Is a retroverted uterus a cause of infertility?

If a retroverted uterus is found by the pelvic ultrasound while you are planning to have a baby. Is it a cause of fertility problem?

The answer is ‘no’. A retroverted uterus is not a cause of infertility!

A uterus is an organ that can move freely. It may form in different positions: anteverted, middle or retroverted. These positions of uterus can happen commonly and naturally to an individual but don’t affect the ability to conceive.

However, a high degree of retroverted uterus may come from some conditions such as endometriosis, chocolate cyst or abdominal adhesions. These conditions may affect fertility.

Therefore, if you notice any symptoms or abnormalities in your body, please hurry up to consult with a specialized doctor in order to find out the appropriate treatment respectively.
