Rainy season and diseases that pregnant mothers should be careful of!

During pregnancy, mothers must take special care of themselves because they don’t want anything to harm or affect their baby in the womb.

Especially during the monsoon or rainy season, mothers may get sick more easily than usual, and it may also affect their mental health. These are what mothers ‘must be careful of’ during this rainy season.

  • Skin problems Pregnant mothers should not walk on the road during the rainy season because it is a source of germs that may increase the risk of dermatitis or leptospirosis.
  • Viral diseases This includes colds, stuffy noses, or fevers, which can easily occur just by being exposed to raindrops. Pregnant mothers may get sick more easily than usual, so be careful not to get caught in the rain.
  • Diseases transmitted through water and food The main cause is from eating unclean or contaminated with germs food and water, which can cause diseases in the digestive system and intestines, leading to acute diarrhea.
  • Dengue fever A contagious disease that is very prevalent during the rainy season, with the number of patients and deaths from this disease increasing every year, which can be found in all age groups. Although the symptoms of dengue fever are not severe, if not treated promptly, complications can occur and lead to death.
  • Unexpected accidents Even if the mothers are healthy, accidents can happen at any time without intention, such as slipping, falling, or car accidents because the road surface is slippery during the rainy season.

Since pregnancy is a time when the mother’s body’s immunity is reduced, they can get more easily infected or sick than others and may take longer to recover than usual. However, pregnant women should eat a balanced diet, get enough sleep, and take good care of themselves during the rainy season.
