Can IUI be done if you are over 35 years old?

IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) is the process of taking sperm that has been analyzed in a laboratory to select healthy sperm and injecting it back into the woman’s uterus so that the sperm can swim and mix with the eggs on its own.

Who is IUI suitable for?

IUI treatment is suitable for couples where the man has a minor sperm problem, the woman has abnormal ovulation, has at least one fallopian tube, and the age should not be over 35 years old.

Therefore, “age” is another factor that may reduce the chances of IUI treatment being successful because there are fewer eggs, and the quality of the eggs is also reduced.

If you ask if you are over 35 years old, you can do IUI, the answer is yes, but the physical condition of both the man and the woman must be considered. If you are 35 years old but have good egg quality, you have a chance of success with IUI.

Start by consulting a fertility specialist to receive appropriate advice for IUI and assess your health condition both before and during the treatment process.

However, you may need to get advice from a doctor because each person’s physical health may affect the success of IUI.
