What are the factors that cause eggs not to grow?

Factors that cause eggs not to grow can be caused by the patient’s response being a problem. Factors that cause the body to respond poorly include age. As age increases, the response to medicines or hormones given to stimulate eggs will be less, which is more common after 40 years of age because the eggs will have more deterioration from the body.

In addition to age, it also depends on the body’s deterioration, such as premature egg deterioration, or external factors that accelerate egg deterioration, such as little rest and stress. Receiving chemotherapy, radiation, various surgeries, or some diseases that cause the egg to become inflamed, such as chocolate cysts, and endometriosis, which results in inflammation, egg tissue, and the egg deteriorates quickly, so the remaining eggs are less responsive to medication. Blood vessels are damaged from surgery which causes the stimulating drug to reach the egg less frequently, so the egg does not grow and be stimulated. The presence of tumors on the ovary that may press on the egg tissue or ovarian blood vessels, also makes the drug less able to reach the egg.

Factors such as giving too little medicine cause the egg not to grow as expected or the patient not responding well to the medicine, which is rare. Patients who do not inject drugs at the right time, and do not inject the medicine correctly, including lack of rest and severe stress can cause the blood vessels to constrict, especially those in the ovaries, resulting in less medicine reaching the egg, causing the egg not to grow or grow slowly.

Indirect factors that affect include lifestyles such as smoking, drinking alcohol regularly, and using various substances that deteriorate the health, causing the eggs to not respond to medicine as well. Various congenital diseases such as Autoimmune disorders (SLE), severe blood diseases, thalassemia, severe diabetes Obesity, overweight, etc.

How to prevent

control diseases, get enough sleep, reduce stress, and stop drinking and smoking. And the doctors will adjust your medication accordingly so that the eggs can be stimulated better.
