Get to Know PMS – Premenstrual Syndrome

Have you ever been so irritable before your period?
In this situation, you and your husband or even several men can’t understand. They might think it is a woman’s excuse. But actually, it is definitely not.

 

That symptom is called PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) which is the abnormality occurred about 1-2 weeks before period. The major cause is from hormone changes in women during the time before period.

PMS makes a woman feel as sick, uncomfortable, moody or get angry more easily.

Symptoms are commonly found in 2 groups:

Mental and Emotional Symptoms, e.g., feeling irritable, upset, anxious, mood swings, food cravings.
Physical Symptoms, e.g., breast tenderness, weight gain, acne, bloating, fatigue, headache, backache, stomachache, flatulence.

Some simple activities that a woman can practice before period in order to reduce the menstrual cramps are including exercise, eating healthy foods, avoid very salty or sweet recipes, try not to be stressful, adequate sleep, do not drink alcohol, coffee and tea.
